Rural Review

The village of Greely is undergoing improvements, headed by the City of Ottawa’s ongoing Rural Review.

On March 30th, 2011, the City of Ottawa held a Rural Review Community Meeting at the Greely Community Centre.

During this meeting, Greely residents were given the opportunity to voice their opinions with respect to updating the policy of the Greely Community Design Plan. The meeting also gave residents the opportunity to discuss land uses permitted in Greely, Greely servicing and infrastructure, the Greely environment, and the character of Greely.

The outcome of the meeting and the subsequent discussion generated is specifically important based on a few initiatives. The common themes discussed during the meeting were:

  • Incentives for local businesses and a better village core.
  • A Greely Trail Network and increased community connectivity.
  • More municipal spending in Greely.
  • Improved parks and recreational facilities.
