Sunset Views – December 1997
WELCOME TO ALL NEW RESIDENTS
Paula Cote has had a busy month welcoming all of our new residents – thanks Paula!
POSTAL KIOSK – Our new postal kiosk located on Old Prescott Road became operational on November 17, 1997. All Sunset Lakes residents should have received notice from Canada Post together with their mail box key. If, for some reason, you have not received notice please contact Greely Post Office at 821-1331 or drop in during normal business hours 8:45 to l7:45 Monday to Friday.
RESIDENT’S DIRECTORY – The Resident’s Directory will be ready for distribution in the New Year. The first version will only contain the residents who have agreed to have their name, address and telephone published.
LAKE ICE – The ice is starting to form on both the large and small lakes, however, because of the mild temperatures the ice is still unsafe to skate on or walk across. We have a sign posted at the recreation area warning residents of unsafe ice conditions.
NEW MUNICIPAL PROPERTY NUMBERS SIGN
This is a sign with green reflective numbers on a white background, installed at the end of your driveway. The signs will help authorities locate your property quicker in the case of an emergency or help delivery people or friends find your home. The new signs automatically accompany building permits being issued now. For those of you who do not have a NEW MUNICIPAL PROPERTY NUMBER SIGN and would like to place an order, please call 821-1011. The cost is $20.00.
WASTE MANAGEMENT – TAG-A-BAG SYSTEM
Just a reminder – Effective January 12, 1998 every bag or container of garbage placed at the curb will be required to have a ‘Tag” on it in order to be picked up. One Tag is required per bag, container or small bulky item and each can weigh up to 50 lbs. Tags can be purchased at the Municipal Office, the Works Department, the Metcalfe Fire Station, public libraries and other retail locations throughout the Township. Tags will cost $1.00 each. Remember your recyclables do not need a Tag. Refer to your ‘Beside & Inside Card’ for details. For more information call the Township of Osgoode at 821-2357.
SAFETY TIP – Those beautiful windows allow for fabulous sunlight, but also for potential burglars to peek in and “case the joint”. Draw your curtains, especially when you’re not home, to discourage unwelcome visitors seeing your valuables and inviting themselves in.
BABY SITTERS –
NEWS, NEWS, NEWS – Do you have any news, up- coming events or comments that you would like to publish in our next news letter. If so please contact Linda at the Sales Centre – 822-8228.
MERRY CHRISTMAS – The Directors and Staff at Sunset Lakes would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and all the best for the upcoming New Year.
